Operative experience Fellow has alternate week full day operating lists with consultant top cover available. In addition the fellow back-fills any UGI operating lists made available due to consultant annual leave or on-calls. Fellow was performing independent Hybrid (laparoscopic abdomen) and open Ivor-Lewis oesophagectomy and open gastrectomy. They performed approximately 30 OG resections in the 10 months (left early as obtained a locum consultant post) including both independent and supervised cases.

Additional information

Treated very much as an integral part of the team with lots of independent oesophagogastric experience with consultant cover if needed. Regular independent endoscopy – both diagnostics and therapeutic. Regular independent OP clinics. Specialist Oesophagogastric experience with no Emergency General Surgery during the fellowship.
