The OG surgery unit is going to expand in 2019 and the number of resections is likely to go up to 120 per year. The bariatric surgery is a well- recognised unit for training. Each one of our past fellows has gone onto secure a consultant position in a reputable, high volume bariatric centre. There are excellent opportunities for research in both fellowships.

The department of Surgery has cutting edge research programs in cancer and bariatric surgery with a wide number of clinical and basic science research projects.
